    About the curated feature

This exhibition: City of ___ is an envisioned cityscape of interlinked technologies that integrate sustainable, smart, productive networks, while enabling communities through shared ownership and inclusive design.

The exhibition is broken down into modular pockets of space within a stimulated urban grid, where sustainable and smart technologies are featured and interlinked.

The designed spaces are spaces of live, work and play, which can be commonly found in the city. The exhibition attempts to capture how technology can influence the user’s sense of space and social behaviour in an urban setting. Apart from the spaces within, the architecture of this exhibition is also designed with sustainability, smartness and productivity in mind.

    Curatorial Vision and Team Background

The curators of this exhibition are from the Sustainability & Resiliency department from Surbana Jurong. We recognize the need for the building industry to move towards an integrated design process that embraces new sustainable and smart technologies. To keep up with the trends and movements of the building industry, we are constantly on the lookout for new sustainable and smart technologies for existing and future projects.

This curatorship is in line with the strategies identified by Singapore’s Committee on the Future Economy, highlighting that Singapore envisions a vibrant city of the future that reacts innovatively and nimbly according to rapid technological change. The value creation of this integration of technology is recognized by the nation to prepare the building industry for future market needs. In addition, Singapore is open to extend and deepen international connections and partnerships to break into new markets worldwide, thus becoming a good harbour for regional and international Asian markets. These initiatives are also in line with Singapore’s Construction Industry Transformation Map.
