BCA Skylab Mapletree Business City
BCA Skylab
Officially opened in 20 July 2016, BCA Skylab is a state-of-the-art rotatable test facility pivotal to the development of innovative energy-efficient building technologies. The facility, modelled after the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s FLEXLAB (Facility for Low Energy Experiments in Buildings), is capable of testing a wide range of energy-efficient technologies. It features two configurable test cells that enable the study of design solutions and performance validation of technologies.
Mapletree Business City
A new benchmark for business space in Singapore and beyond, Mapletree Business City incorporates a “city” concept where modern business space is situated in a garden setting. The MBC concept has also been exported overseas to Shanghai, China.
  • Estimated energy & water savings of 15,020,093 kWh/yr and 94,000 m3/yr respectively.
  • Measured and verified operating system efficiency of 0.58 kW/ton, with variable speed drive controls.
  • Extensive use of energy efficient T5 lighting for office space, with 39% savings from code.
  • Intelligent BMS control to turn off lighting at common areas when not in use.
  • Waste heat recovery system to produce hot water for F&B and amenities usage.
  • Run-around coil technology at pre-cooled AHU to pre-cool outdoor fresh air.
  • CO2 sensors integrated with demand control ventilation for offices AHU to reduce fresh air intake when human occupancy is low.
  • Indoor air quality audit conducted to ensure a good indoor air quality in office premises.

This tour is available as part of a 1-day pass that includes access to the International Green Building Conference sessions on 12 Sep 2017, 8.30am – 1.30pm. Participants also enjoy exclusive access to the Joint Opening Ceremony and lunch on 12 Sep.
